To the crack Mecca or INDIAN CREEK !

Thanks to Justin and Tim who were asking around if someone was going from Joe's Valley to Indian Creek, I got a lift there !! My new guides and traveling companions are Monica and Lincoln, her dog !

"Creek Pasture" is my new home for a month ! This is the name of this nice campground, located about one hour drive from Moab. Here, no water, no shops. Only the desert, the rocks, the climbers, the rabbits and the birds... But that's enough ;)

Burger and sweet potato fries made by Monica ! Yummy !

For my first crack climbing experience, my teachers will be Josh, Monica, Dr. Pang, Jeremy and Kim. I will top rope the routes they are doing and quickly realize that I better tape my hands if I still want some skin for the rest of my trip !! I also realize (with the advise of my guides) I should buy new bigger shoes if I don't want to loose my toes...

After 4 or 5 days only top roping, I finally start leading ! And thanks to my great teachers, it goes quite well ! :)

Siebe, Hayden and Mason

Then, beginning of April, Siebe arrived to the Creek. I will climb with him most of the time and then also meet Mason and Hayden. All together, they are some kinds of crack machines !!!! Watching them climbing and listening to their tips was the best learning I could get. So, thanks a lot to the 3 of you !!!

Beside Indian Creek, there are many places with amazing lines and views around Moab. Mason and Siebe had some projects around there so I joined them for some days of discovery...

Arches National Park

With Siebe and Mason, we climbed this funny looking tower in Arches National Park ! It's called Devil's Golf Ball. Only one pitch to the top (Siebe did the first free ascent ! ;)) and a nice view to enjoy ;)

...And a nice rappel too !

We also climbed some roof crack things such as the "Crackhouse". A nice place to learn the technique !

Then, on rest days, we had some nice activities around Moab... :)

Riding the tricycle made by this guy !
Shooting the gun in the desert...!
Enjoying some figs made by our beloved Belgian king ! ;)

It is already the end of April. Siebe goes back to Belgium, Mason and Ally (his girlfriend) stay in Moab for a little while and I go back to the Creek for my last days before the next destination...... YOSEMITE !!!
